Garvan’s Dr Ksenia Skvortsova discusses diet and the epigenome, parental malnutrition and trauma, and disorders in offspring.
Epigenetics are the heritable changes in gene expression which don’t affect the underlying DNA sequence.

  1. nice lecture the bee model is great observation. 5:33 FKBPS gene and stress hormone regulation. its not easy to distinguish whether some disease manifests from parental upbringing or epigenetics though!(research direction) but some behaviors leaves surer marks e.g smoking stress drugs etc. 3:04
