  1. First of all you are dark not black. Before the creation the only thing that existed was space. And one of the main characteristics of empty space is darkness. That's why Adam and eve was created in the image of god. All things come into existence through darkness everything returns to darkness. Darkness is the abscence of light. Light is a temporary thing as a result of something burning. But even in the prescence of light darkness is still there hidden temporarily. Darkness is everywhere at all times capable of coexisting alongside all things because it doesn't interfere with physical things. Its unseen unheard unmanifested but possesses infinite potential because all things come from it. If you see your true self. There is no individual self. How can something that's all places at all times be divided into parts. Your mind through the process or movement of thought maintains this illusion of an individual self. Thought is a movement from past to future. The past is dead it's not existing in the this moment only in the form of memories. The future is not real cause it's simply a supposition or hypothesis. But who is to say that it will come. So the only real reality is now. So if you allow your thoughts to continue to define who you are based off past events that makes you dead. And like jesus said let the dead bury the dead. Let the living keep living. Of course you have the the genetic code of your ancestors written in every cell of your body. That's memory. And memory is just a experience that the mind does not allow to escape but its dead. We all know are history. But it's dead. The only reason slavery still continues to exist in the now is because we keep bringing it into existence thinking about it all the time. And it's going to travel with us to the future because we keep teaching our kids about it. If dark people in America know who they really are and decide that in every living moment of the day I am going to live out my true nature. Then the effects of slavery will disappear over night. Why do you all talk about slavery so much. Cause it pleases you in some sort of way. You say I am a victim. So if i am a victim that makes the person who did this to me a evil. And since the only way to define qualities such as those is through relation to their opposite. So you say whites enslaved me they are evil violent I am the opposite righteous peaceful. So if you really look at the desire that continues to drives this behavior. Not to condemn it or justify it but just understand why is talking about slavery important to me what does it do for me. It makes me feel like I am a member of a group that's righteous or peaceful. But when you try to define yourself as righteous or peaceful you automatically divide yourself or create a duality. And that division itself is a form of aggression. Not only against whites but also yourself. War and peace are two opposite states that rise out if the true self. And since life is constant dynamic and not static like the states of peace or war. So when you talk about slavery to feel better about who you are as a black people you are attacking your true self.

  2. A couple of days ago a prisoner in TX escaped. The pictures they showed of the police looking for him was extraordinary disturbing. It was reminiscent of slave catchers catching a runaway. I mean they had dogs, helicopters, and all searching for ONE MAN!! Seeing that was very very traumatic. Thanks to this show I’m glad I have an understanding of why the situation made me feel so horrible

  3. I love listening to Dr Joy. I appreciate her knowledge and I love her laugh. I’m learning much from these videos! Thank you Dr Joy and Philippe for your time and knowledge, can’t wait to listen to the second installment! Much love!!

  4. As I listen what is a discussion that should go viral world-wide for the healing of our people I can't help but wonder why is this not the case. Then it hit me… Is it possible the those who do not have our best interest at heart could use this very information to keep us angry and suppressed… so that they can continue to (financially) benefit from our demise (e.g. the prison system)?

  5. Very insightful , when she differentiates the symptoms of post traumatic stress and post traumatic slave syndromes and how a person could be shot in-front of you , not being affected but a person hearing the shot could , very interesting. Im going to get her book soon, more people especially whites need to be introduced to her , and listen instead of just merely hearing to respond. Easier said than done I know but nonetheless great interview!

  6. Dr. Degruy's years of studying and research will hopefully help our people to understand the sickness that has been indoctrinated into us and will allow us to reflect and reinvent ourselves as a people.
My question is surely she realizes that none of these things are coincidental, but by design. And since it's deliberate, the oppressors do not intend to acknowledge or change the status quo. There will be a major change only, when we as a people change our own behavior and stop waiting for those who oppress us to acknowledge our pain and then to help us. This study should be used to enlighten us as a people so that we can strengthen our spiritual condition and become beneficial to our families, friends, and our communities. We have to stop degrading ourselves, stop killing our people, and stop begging for acceptance from the very people who are inflicting the deadly harm on us. We spend to much valuable time and energy trying to help white people understand their uncivilized part in all of these atrocities that are still being inflicted upon us. We need to heal and then take the next steps to empower ourselves as a people.

  7. Question to Dr. DeGruy: I agree that epigenetics (nature) can have a lot of factors in this syndrome, but could your nurturing environment also play a huge part in the pathology of adolescence and up?

  8. Dr. DeGruy around 24 mins mentions the nod amongst people acknowledging each other. I've done it. There have been times when I've tried to acknowledge others and get nothing. It's astonishing to me. I was being helped by this sistah at a store and she through such vibrational shade towards me. Wow! Then she waited on a paleo woman afterwards and was all smiles and talk. hmm such damaged psychs.

  9. Greetings, of PTSS and human health, is it biological or psychological? The idea of "epigenetics" in an unattached plane of thought is the idea connected to the combined effect of a specific environment and the (biological?) adaptation and (psychological?) adjustments of the inner human. In the PTSS matters of Dr DeGruy is it a multilevel thought matter of human consciousness and subconsciousness? If a person is subjected to injury, pain and degradation (etc.) is any of this inherited at the inner human parts? Or, is it passed on in the visceral vocal matters of communication; in short, how does it get from one generation into the following?

  10. This is like my 10th time listening to this BEAUTIFUL discussion! I have her book and I wanted to tear up and I'm just in the 1st chapter! haha She gave words to what I was seeing and feeling and living out. I maybe a cry baby ball of mess at the end of this book lol.

  11. This is my Woman of the Century, Sorry Serena :-). My view of today's Gate Keeper is Dr. Ben Carson, dislike calling him out as well. I would like to see him change the direction he is going. Obama is being persecuted from every angle, am not saying Obama is perfect, but adding fuel to fire. I had my children reading Dr. Ben Carson books and held him in high standards. Our ancestors were persecuted far to long, we have to many day to day hurdles for us to keep oppressing each other. Just like people who use the "N" word do not value or comprehend the impact it had on our ancestors etc. Blessings and Unity for all Races.

  12. I'm looking at the view count and thinking about how vital so much of the information presented here is. It is critical that we persue educating ourselves and sharing that information with each other by every means available because it is very true to our natural culture. Along the way, we are having particular doors opening and a great many of these oppurtunities have to do with exposing us to differing stages of development when considering us in this particular system that is also evolving or decaying depending upon individual views. I think it effectual and timely to have come across this video of Dr. DeGruy and also those of Dr. Nichols. Philippe, you be doin' too much :D.

In any case, great conversation, great points, great Q&A. Thumbs up and subscribed

  13. I agree with the comment of "Blacks not being seen" as discussed here. it's no different when I hear whites become upset because their employer or managers have not recognized them for their work. They get very upset and disgruntled and go off on the management team in meetings. I have seen this play out with my white co-workers. same difference with blacks not being recognized as human beings of worth.
